Lynette Padwa

With more than 25 years’ experience in book publishing, I offer support for every phase of writing and editing manuscripts. For authors who have only the kernel of a concept and wonder if it can be turned into a book, I provide market evaluation and proposal writing. For those who need a collaborator or ghostwriter, I offer skill and enthusiasm. Every author is different, and I enjoy discovering the best way to make your voice shine through. For editors who need a manuscript rescued, no matter what stage it’s in, I provide a full slate of editorial and writing services. For agents in search of the right professional to team with a promising author, I offer all of the above.

I’m both an author and a collaborator. I have written three books of my own: Everything You Pretend to Know and Are Afraid Someone Will Ask; Quick, Answer Me Before I Forget the Question; and Say the Magic Words: How to Get What You Want From the People Who Have What You Need, all published by Penguin. I've worked as a collaborator on nine books, with two more in the pipeline now. Forthcoming in September 2010: 27 Powers of Persuasion: Simple Strategies for Seducing Audiences and Winning Allies, written with Chris St. Hilaire (Prentice Hall). Forthcoming in 2011: Ballroom Dancing Through the Boardroom: The New Steps that Made Me a Smarter CEO, Better Boss, and Happier Woman, ghostwritten for Patrice Tanaka (BenBella Books).

I’ve written books with experts from the fields of entertainment, business, psychology, the law, health, parenting, hospitality, and more. Among them: The Blessing of a Skinned Knee (for Dr. Wendy Mogel); Fearless Loving (for Rhonda Britten); Moses on Management (with Rabbi David Baron); If You Could Hear What I See (with Kathy Buckley); Reading People: How to Understand People and Predict Their Behavior, Anytime, Anyplace (for Jo-Ellan Dimitirus and Mark Mazzarella); For Mothers of Difficult Daughters (with Dr. Charney Herst); and Weddings: A Celebration (for Beverly Clark).
