I will take what you have and help you craft a winning book proposal, or offer guidance on a work-in-progress. I also provide developmental fiction editing and coaching on storytelling technique. My areas of specialty in nonfiction are women’s issues, parenting, motivational/self-help, memoir, and Judaica. I also specialize in commercial women’s fiction and general fiction.
My editing skills and publishing sensibility were forged during my 15 years at Warner Books, Kensington Publishing, Dove/NewStar, and New American Library. During my tenure in-house, I acquired, edited and managed more than 500 published books. Among those were original fiction by New York Times bestseller Jayne Ann Krentz and other highly successful commercial novelists, as well as a wide array of commercial nonfiction books. I also acquired for paperback and/or audio formats works by John Banville, Janet Burroway, Elena Castedo, Da Chen, Annie Dillard, Paula Fox, Stephen Jay Gould, Spalding Gray, Thomas Klemperer, T. Jefferson Parker, and others.
Projects I’ve worked on that are about to or have been recently published include Rashi’s Daughters: Book One and Book Two by Maggie Anton; Now and Forever by Rosanne Bittner; The Adversity Advantage: Seven Steps Towards Everyday Greatness by Erik Weihenmayer and Paul Stoltz; Will I Ever Be Good Enough by Karyl McBride; and Fatherstyle: Surefire Techniques Every Parent Can Use to Raise Confident and Caring Kids by Kevin O'Shea and James Windell.
